Avery Project Christmas is very thankful for the generosity of the High Country Charitable Foundation for the donations over the last 4 years totaling $25,000. Just this year our donation helped meet the Wish List for over 400 Avery County children and youth.
2023 marks the 4th year High Country Charitable Foundation has joined directly with Avery Project Christmas which was organized by Reaching Avery Ministry (RAM). Area agencies and school counselors serve on the organizing committee. Avery School Counselors, Avery Department of Social Services, Avery Health Department employees gather the information regarding children and youth needs. Avery Project Christmas becomes possible with the generosity of church congregations, along with full-time and part-time residents of Avery County.
Avery County is blessed to have school counselors and agency staff who work with RAM and are sensitive to needs and requests of students as a “Wish List” is created for each child. Using donated money, the agency staff and school counselors purchased the items and sorted them into labeled gift bags to be delivered to the families by the school counselors. It is with grateful hearts that the parents, and grandparents serving as parents, received the gift bag for their child that was placed under the Christmas tree this past Christmas morning.
Since the parents received the gift bag earlier in the month, there are no pictures of children receiving the gifts. Use your life experiences and imagination to paint the images of smiling happy children and youth receiving the surprise gift bag! As a donor, feel the appreciation and joy! As Christ continues to tell us, “When you have loved and shared with others, you are showing love to Me.”
❗️Thank you to all of our donors of the High The High Country Charitable Foundation, Inc. for helping us make this happen! ❗️
